Opportunity to become a Trustee or Co-optee of a dynamic, locally focussed Charity

Wimbledon Community Association is a local charity which has served its local community for 70 years.  Following the closure of its old community centre in 2012 the replacement trustees have initiated a new beginning for the organisation.

Having successfully set up its new website and brought in a paid staff member to help develop its services the trustees are now looking to expand their number and support the association in its new aim to connect people, places, passions and pastimes.

If you are based in Merton with the time and passion to contribute to your local community, we would be pleased to hear from you.

We are looking for people who are interested in becoming trustees or a co-opted member who just wishes to focus on a specific area.   Our main focus is people with skills and / or experience in website development, social media & community engagement.  Experience in charity constitutions, membership structures, communications and internet marketing would also be helpful.  This is a good opportunity to develop hands-on experience and your CV whilst making a positive contribution to your local community.

But first and foremost, you must have a desire to connect!  For more information on the organisation, the voluntary role of a trustee / co-optee and our recruitment process, please click here: Trustee Co Optee Specification Document and find out how you can get involved in our dynamic new future.

About our website

Welcome to the Wimbledon Community Association (WCA) and our brand-new website, wimblecomm. We are a local charity focused on connecting people with venues that offer community space for hire in and around Wimbledon.

The website was first launched in September 2016 with an initial 16 venues listing their community space(s) for hire. We expect this number to rise steadily as the site becomes more widely known.

If you are a not for profit/charitable/public sector organisation and hire out community space(s) in Wimbledon and surrounding areas you can use the website to publicise your venue for free. Details on how to register can be found on the ‘Add Listing’ page. Please refer to our T&Cs for further details.

If you are a commercial organisation offering community space for hire and would like to list your venue on our website, please contact us directly.

If you are a person or organisation looking for space to hire then simply go straight to our ‘Venue Search’ page and find out what is available.

If you are interested in knowing more about our history and our current and future plans go to the ‘About WCA’ and ‘News’ sections.

Welcome to WCA
