Volunteering Opportunities with Imagine Independence

Job Description

We are Imagine Independence, a mental health charity, looking for volunteers to support clients with their wellbeing.

We are looking for volunteers to perform the following volunteer roles:

  • Mentor – Mentors work 1:1 with individuals to develop and sustain their wellbeing, self-esteem, confidence and independence.
  • Peer Coach – Peer Coaches support staff to facilitate workshops aimed at upskilling and enhancing people’s recovery journey.  Workshops include themes such as Managing Stress, Confidence and Assertiveness, Relaxation and Wellbeing, and Daily Living Skills.
  • Peer Group Mentor – Peer Group Mentors support staff to set up community-based groups for clients and facilitate the groups with other volunteers and staff.

We welcome volunteers with lived-in experience of mental health to support individuals and group environments.  

We require a commitment of 3 hours each week, and offer the following:

  • Induction and ongoing supervision/support.
  • Expense reimbursement.
  • Provision of online training.
