Volunteer Programme Manager

Job Description

We are a community charity providing a hand-up, not a hand-out. We want our customers to feel valued, respected and empowered to live life their way. Whether it’s emotional, financial, or practical support, our customers can turn to us for help getting back on their feet. Wimbledon Guild is more than just a place, it is a real community where everyone belongs. For over 111 years we have been supporting our local community through a wide range of innovative services which we continued to develop in response to local need and aspirations. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of our work and last year we supported over 4,000 people. In addition, we have very strong working relationships with the statutory sector including Merton Council and the NHS. Our volunteers are an integral part of Wimbledon Guild and our programme has doubled in size since March 2020, to over 300 volunteers. We see huge potential with our volunteers and we want to recruit a Manager who will help us develop and deliver our new volunteer strategy. The role will focus on ensuring we are recruiting and retaining a diverse volunteer pool, helping develop new volunteering opportunities and also ensuring that volunteers are considered throughout our work. This is a very exciting time to join Wimbledon Guild as we develop our three year strategy and volunteering will play a key role in our service delivery. We are looking for a self-starter who has previously managed volunteering programmes and has a real passion for the benefits of volunteering. You will be an excellent ambassador for Wimbledon Guild and be comfortable in building relationships both externally with community organisations and also with internal teams. The role will also line manage a Volunteer Programme Administrator.

Salary £36,000 per annum
