Join our trusty group of energetic and enthusiastic volunteers and help us pick and redistribute locally grown fresh fruit (from private gardens, parks, etc) to local charities and to our team of jam, cordial, chutney and pie makers to avoid food waste.

Picking season typically runs from the end of July to the start of September. Our Fruit Picks are divided into the following areas within Merton, each headed up by an Area Coordinator who arranges and coordinates the fruit picking activities:

– Martin Way Allotments
– Morden and Mitcham
– Motspur Park
– Raynes Park
– Wimbledon
– Wimbledon Park

All fruit-picking equipment is provided, and first time fruit-pickers will be shown how to use it.

Often Fruit Picks can take place at fairly short notice, so the more flexible our volunteers can be, the easier it will be to carry out our intended mission.

Once the fruit is picked, it then needs to be transported to a variety of (local) locations. Should you be able to help with this element, that would be a great help too.
