Curriculum & Quality Manager – ESOL

Job Description

Merton Home Tutoring Service (“MHTS) is a charity with a strong local reputation and a 12-year history of providing English language support to migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and people unable to access mainstream education. We are an adaptive and agile charity, ensuring the learner is at the heart and centre.

With new leadership and funding contracts and having recently achieved Matrix Accreditation, MHTS is at a pivotal time of growth and change. We need an experienced Curriculum and Quality Manager to maintain our high standards and lead our educational journey.

We provide community classes across pre-entry to L1 levels, and a home tutoring service for those not able to attend classes; currently providing tuition to over 200 learners within the London Borough of Merton, including a newly arrived group from Ukraine. Our strategic aim is integration and community cohesion: supporting migrant communities and individuals to acquire the linguistic and cultural competences they need to improve their life prospects in the UK – demonstrating the value they bring.

This is a senior position in our organisation and the post holder will be required to work closely with the Director, regularly communicating updates around Curriculum and Quality and will be required to deputise in their absence. If you are a committed, self-motivated and experienced ESOL educational professional with educational management experience and qualifications and would love the challenge of leading our dedicated teaching staff and our committed volunteer home tutors, we’d love to hear from you.
