Back in 2013, before the old community centre was closed and responsibility for the site was handed over to the Council, Jackie and I (David, Chair of Trustees at WCA), assisted by various friends and family, cleared the old building. Some of the equipment was disposed of and donations received for several items.
We transferred a lot of stuff to two lock ups at the time (one indoors) in the hope of finding a new community space for some of the equipment. Some of the items in storage were props and costumes belonging to Carlton (which Jackie is now kindly looking after).
I think it may be ‘womble’ upbringing and inbuilt reluctance to dispose of anything that I felt might have some value (to someone) that has caused us to hang on to these items for so long but over the years we have made some headway.
We finally managed to clear the indoor storage facility a couple of years ago and found new homes for many of the Carlton items and other bits from the outside garage but are keen to close that now so we can use our resources elsewhere.
A list of the items we are now looking to dispose of is provided below along with some pictures. If you are interested in anything, please let us know by no later than 14 October by emailing us at general@wimbledoncommunity.org otherwise these items will sadly end up in a skip or (hopefully) a recycling facility.

Item 6 – Assembled fake foliage for garden scenes
Item 7 – Two plastic box of old songbooks – some quite old
Item 8 – Two old office swivel chairs – with soft black seats
Item 9 – Four old floor polishers / cleaners
Item 10 – Four old radiators / heaters – SOME MAY BE NO LONGER AVAILABLE, PLEASE ENQUIRE
Item 11 – Wooden stocks
Item 12 – Curtain pole
Item 13 – Wooden frame for hanging
Item 16 – Fold down metal chairs (30) with soft seating (need reupholstering)
