Become a Merton Smoke Free Champion!

A programme backed by Merton Council, the aim is for Merton to become a Smoke Free borough by 2030 (under 5% of the population smoking).

Currently the smoking rate for Merton is over 14% of the population which is higher than England and London and the 6th highest rate in London.

As part of the programme, we will be creating a network of Smoke Free Champions, who can help and support the aims by understanding how to have the conversations needed to support people to give up smoking and to offer information and guidance for stop smoking services.

The training will be as follows:

  • 1 hour duration
  • Online
  • Delivered by qualified trainers
  • Delivered to the NCSCT standards
  • Certificate available on completion (can count towards CPD)
  • Smoke Free Merton badge (TBC in the New Year)

Please note there will be 2 training session on 27th November for Community Champions – you only need to attend one of the sessions.

If you are unable to make either session, there are regular sessions available each month. Please email oneyou.merton@nhs.net for more information.

Please feel free to share this invite with any other interested parties.

Thank you for your support.
