Although the physical sites of the Merton Library and Heritage service have been closed since the 20 March, their online services have remained open and staff have been redeployed in the council to help with the Covid-19 response.
Below please see some information on how the Merton Library services are continuing during this difficult time.
The Merton digital library remains open. Customers can access a variety of free digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, children’s educational resources, films, lectures and much more, from home. Customers not previously signed up for a library card can do so online and get started straight away without having to pick up their card from the library.
Renewals and Fines. From the 19 March Merton Libraries have: automatically renewed all due books until 30 April, automatically waived all fines from their closure date until 30 April and extended all hold/reservation pickup/expiry dates until 30 April.
Library Staff Community Response. Library staff have been supporting MVSC and the volunteer sector in the borough to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19, and have also been redeployed to work in the Merton Council Shielding team.
