Libraries Re-Open

Since the beginning of August 2020 libraries in Merton have re-opened for a Click & Collect service. Some computers will also be available, advance booking is required. For details see below, follow Merton Libraries on Twitter, and visit: Merton Libraries News.

From Monday 7 September, Mitcham, Morden and Wimbledon libraries will be open for browsing. The Click & Collect service, and use of some computers, will still be provided at all seven of Merton’s libraries. Your visit may feel a bit different to usual, so please check the Merton Libraries website before you visit for more information.

Digital Library Service

Customers can access a variety of free digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, children’s educational resources, films, lectures and much more, from home. Customers not previously signed up for a library card can do so online and get started straight away without having to pick up their card from the library.

The online Library has a fantastic range of ebooks, eaudio and ecomics for children, teens and adults. They are available to download on the #Libby app. All you need is your library card https://llc.overdrive.com.

Summer Reading Challenge

There is still time to join the challenge which has a closing date of 30 September; and be entered into the Merton Libraries’ prize draw… follow the link Summer Reading Challenge to find out more!

Library Staff Community Response

A big thank you to the Merton library staff who have been supporting MVSC and the volunteer sector in the borough to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19, and staff who have been redeployed to work in the Merton Council Shielding team.

This is Anthony, Head of Libraries, Heritage & Adult education. Since @MertonLibraries buildings had to temporarily close during the lockdown earlier this year, Anthony & his team have been helping manage the MVSC @MertonConnected Community Hub and calling the most vulnerable residents.
