Wimbledon Guild is going from strength to strength and we are looking forward to appointing a new Group Psychotherapist working the equivalent of 3 days or 22.5 hours a week in our Talking Therapies team.  Our mission is ‘to provide people in Merton with help and support in times of need’ and we achieve this through three key strategic objectives:

• Reducing social isolation and loneliness

• Help people who are experiencing difficulties

• Enabling older people to be active and healthy

We meet these objectives through a diverse range of services, which we are constantly developing in response to local need and aspirations. We collaborate closely with partners in the statutory and voluntary sector and with a thriving group of volunteers.  Our Talking Therapies are well known and highly regarded in the local community and we are a BACP Accredited Service.

We are near the end of our second year in our three-year Talking Therapies strategy and have secured funding to develop new emotional support groups through until 2022.

We have had a part time Group Psychotherapist in post 2 days a week who is now moving on to a managerial role.  We are taking the opportunity to increase the hours of this post to 3 days (22.5 hours). There are currently two Psychotherapy groups running which we would like to continue; one on Tuesday mornings (which could change day) and a Wednesday evening group (which could change to Tuesday evenings).  Additionally, we would like our group psychotherapist to take over running a long-term emotional support group on Thursday mornings

As our new Group Psychotherapist, you would have responsibility for the day to day operational running of these 3 groups, assessing new clients and supervising trainees on placement (typically 1-2 per annum only).  As a department we work predominantly psychodynamically and are looking for either a Group Analyst or Group Psychotherapist who would continue to run these long-term groups.  We currently offer adult clients up to 3 years’ in Group Psychotherapy; the emotional support group is currently open-ended.   As well as facilitating these groups, ideally you might also have experience and training as a clinical supervisor.

We are looking for someone highly professional and conscientious in their work, who will bring a high level of experience both as a Group Psychotherapist and of working within the voluntary sector.

If this sounds like you, it would be great to hear from you. Please complete your application form, detailing in the additional information how you meet the person specification.  (Please note, a c.v. is not acceptable.) If you have any queries about the process please contact me, Sally Anderson via sanderson@wimbledonguild.co.uk

The closing date is Tuesday 6th April, 9am by email to jobs@wimbledonguild.co.uk and interviews will take place on Monday 26th April 2021The interviews will involve you giving a 10-minute presentation as well as individual interviews.

Many thanks for your interest in Wimbledon Guild, we look forward to hearing from you.
