Annual General Meeting and Webinar

This year, our Charity, Wimbledon Community Association, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary. It has been a busy, and rather productive year so far.

  • We introduced a new membership program, adding subscription options for Community Groups/Organisations along with new membership tiers for Community Venues.
  • Our Online Community Hub for Merton, Wimblecomm, received a functional overhaul and facelift – adding new features such as the Community Group directory and Job/Volunteering section.
  • Monthly Wimblecomm Connect and Webinar programs, both of which had started during the COVID Pandemic, were developed further, providing an informal networking and learning platform for our members.
  • We launched ’75 Stories’, a project which celebrates our Charity’s anniversary and champions community stories in Merton.

Over recent months, there has been a significant, and much welcome increase in requests from people looking for community space to hire. With life returning to a more normal pace, we are busy once again, spreading the word about community venues, groups, events and opportunities on Wimblecomm, the online hub where we ‘connect the people of Merton with places, and their passions’.

Please join our AGM, where we will reflect on the year and share our aspirations for the future, on Wednesday, 10 November 2021 at 14:00PM, on Zoom. After the formal part of the AGM, from 14:30PM to 15:45PM, we will host an interactive webinar with Kingston based consultancy, Superhighways, on ‘Making your Stories Count’.

Making your Stories Count

We have partnered with Kingston based consultancy, Superhighways, to present this interactive webinar as part of our AGM.

Funders, donors and the people you support all need to know that your organisation can make a genuine difference, yet sometimes telling people about your impact is almost as hard as measuring it in the first place!

Join this interactive session to discover ways to create reports and ongoing impact content that will celebrate the story of your work. All using online digital tools that are free or low-cost.  See below from the Superhighways trainer delivering this session:

Delegates will find it easiest to participate using a desktop device such as a laptop or PC.  If you are joining by phone or tablet you can still join the exercises if you are comfortable moving between screens when you are in Zoom.  Alternatively you can comment in the Zoom meeting chat.  Everyone is welcome, there’s no need to be a techie to participate.
