Link House Care & Nursing Home in Raynes Park is inviting the local community to a free Dementia Awareness and Community Connection Day on Thursday 10th September, from 10am to 4:30pm, in support of World Alzheimer’s Month.
The event will offer an opportunity for people to learn more about dementia, ask questions and gain a better understanding of what living with the condition can feel like. As part of the day, visitors will be able to take part in a free 15-minute Virtual Dementia Bus Experience, designed to help participants experience some of the challenges a person living with dementia may face.
The immersive experience aims to build greater understanding and encourage simple changes that can help improve the lives of people living with dementia.
Link House’s Dementia Champions, Marie and Veena, will also be available during the event to offer support, answer questions and share helpful guidance with visitors.
The event is open to everyone, whether you are supporting a family member or friend living with dementia, work within health or social care, or simply want to learn more about the condition.
The event forms part of Link House’s support for World Alzheimer’s Month, which takes place throughout September and aims to raise awareness, challenge stigma and encourage greater understanding of dementia.

The team works closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals to review care plans, respond to changing needs and provide the right level of day-to-day support, from personal care and medication management to nutrition, mobility, communication and meaningful activity.
