The celebrations begin on Wimbledon Piazza at 10.00 am. They include live music by a jazz quartet and a pianist and an opportunity to talk to representatives of Merton u3a about the interest groups available to people likely to be in their 50s and no longer in full-time employment or raising a family. The interest groups cover a wide range: cycling, walking, music, book clubs, local history. The event moves from the Piazza to the nearby Drake House for complimentary cake and coffee and displays by interest groups and chats to group leaders.
