Wimbledon’s Cannizaro Park and Cannizaro House are joining forces this year to host the second Art in the Park arts festival on Sunday 17th September. Cannizaro Art in the Park combines free art activities, a sculpture trail and an art fair showcasing local talent.
In the beautiful surroundings of Grade II* listed Cannizaro Park you will find a host of free family-friendly creative activities, from a workshop making sculptures from natural materials, to clay modelling and a giant communal drawing. Follow the sculpture trail through the trees down to the Cannizaro Art Studios, which will be open for the weekend. Just a few short steps away from the park entrance, visitors will find an art fair on the lawn in front of stunning Cannizaro House, where more than 60 artists and makers will be showcasing a range of local talent in painting, printmaking, ceramics and jewellery-making.
Aimed at art lovers, park lovers, budding artists and families alike, Art in the Park promises a full day of fun and creativity for the whole community to enjoy.
This free one-day event is sponsored by EQ Investors, an award-winning team of chartered financial planners and investment experts, and supported by Kings College School, Wimbledon and Viking, the award-winning cruise line. It has been created by Wimbledon artists Katie Preston and Katharine Rowe from non-profit Common Works Gallery CIC. Continuing a rich history of art displays in Cannizaro’s beautiful house and park, this event is held in partnership with Cannizaro House, Wimbledon, the Friends of Cannizaro Park and the park’s ACAVA artists’ studios.
