Fancy some acting alongside the Carlton Theatre Group?

This adaptation brings together all three parts of the Theban plays: Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone in a fast-moving two act play. For those new to the plays it serves as a great introduction, for the more experienced it offers a fresh and exciting new take on the famous legend of Oedipus. The production will have a contemporary setting and is likely to include the use of camera technology to really bring the play up to date.

There is no need to prepare anything ahead of time for the auditions. There will be a short group exercise which everyone is expected to take part in, you’ll then be free to read for as many roles are you’re interested in. (Although I wouldn’t recommend more than 3!) Some smaller roles may have to audition in pairs and therefore you may be asked to ‘read in’ for other people’s auditions. For smaller roles we recommend auditioning for one part from each act.
