Home-Start Merton is a local charity supporting the local community of pregnant parents and parents with children 0-5 years of age who often struggle with issues we take for granted. We are fortunate to have the resources or friends and family to support us when we have struggles.
Home-Start’s vision is to shape a community where all children have the best possible start in life. We want to make sure that no parent or family feels alone in the critical task of raising children.
Home-Start Merton exists to enable families experiencing stress or difficulties to meet the needs of their children from conception to five years old. We offer a range of support including our core service of volunteer support within the families’ homes. Volunteers are parents themselves who are recruited and trained to deliver support and work with the families on a weekly basis to ensure they are equipped with the tools to prevent escalation into statutory services. Volunteers receive ongoing training, support, and supervision to equip them to support the most vulnerable families in Merton. We support over 450 beneficiaries each year building resilience for families to manage independently.
