They say that time flies when you’re having fun, so it is hardly surprising to think that we are already halfway through the school summer holidays. For most Londoners and people throughout the UK, this Summer has been the hottest on record for quite some years, having seen highs of 35.1°C in Surrey in late July.
To help keep you and yours cool whilst still enjoying the hot weather, we have compiled a list of fun things to do inclusive of trips to the various outdoor pools and lidos around the capital, and even some watersports activities. With so much to do for people of all ages, there is little to no reason for you to feel stuck inside this summer. So whether you are seeking a day out for the family, or something refreshing to do with friends, we may just have you covered.
- Lidos – Tooting Bec Lido, Brockwell Lido, Parliament Hill Lido
- Outdoor Pools – Richmond Pools on the Park, Hampton Pool
- Watersports – Wimbledon Park Watersports & Outdoor Centre
- Paddling Pools & Water Play Areas – Various paddling pools and interactive water play areas in Merton
Please be mindful that the above areas can reach their capacity quite early on in the day or can close for periods of time as a result of the changing weather. Therefore, we do recommend that you check their websites and social media accounts to plan ahead and stay up-to date with any changes that may occur.
On a final note, for our next newsletter we will be hosting a round-up of Summer, so it would be great to feature your reviews, pictures and stories. To share these with us, you can tweet us or connect with us on Instagram or Facebook. Equally, you can drop us an email at general@wimbledoncommunity.org. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
