Accoutre Celebrates 1 Year of Educating Future Generations

Accoutre Centre for Learning 1st Anniversary, Authentic Black British History

Thanks to Accoutre Centre for Learning, education for children aged 7-16 doesn’t stop at the end of a traditional school day. Their supplementary school provides free English, Maths, and Black British History lessons to local black African Caribbean children in Merton and beyond.

To wrap up a very successful year for the organisation, Accoutre celebrated their first anniversary with a joyous zoom session which saw a series of special guests join the teachers, students, and local people from the community who helped to make it happen. On the day, around 50 attendees came together virtually to share stories and experiences, inspire one another, and commend Accoutre for all that has been achieved in just one year.

It’s been a pleasure to have Accoutre join our Wimblecomm family and take advantage of our new community group membership because spreading the word about positive, life-changing programmes like this is exactly what our community hub is here for. Watch the video below and click here to learn more about Accoutre, and stay tuned to find out what they have in store for the next school year.
