A Look Back at the Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk 2019

Last Saturday the 28th September saw the Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk for its second year running.

The event attracted over 230 people (and their canine friends) who took part in either 7k or 4k walks through the beautiful Wimbledon Common. We met some wonderful people and fantastic dogs, and the weather was good as well!

We are so pleased to say that the event raised over £7,000 for Wimbledon Guild.  A big thank you to everyone who came along and joined in.  Wimbledon Guild is a local charity that aims to help people experiencing difficulty throughout Merton and helps enable older people to be active and healthy.  Visit our website to find out more:  https://www.wimbledonguild.co.uk/.

A huge thank you also goes to Andrew and everyone at the Hand in Hand pub for feeding the waggy walkers before they set off and so much more. We couldn’t have done it without them.

Our wonderful sponsors were out in force too – Pet Pavilion provided goodie bags for every dog, full of wonderful treats and toys. H. R. Owen Maserati had an impressive example of their sports cars on site and supplied a great goodie bag as one of our raffle prizes. There were Ashworths Solicitors tennis balls everywhere, Cawston Press provided refreshing drinks, Metro bank gave out goodie bags including dog neckerchiefs and the Wimbledon Brewery gave us a barrel of great beer!

If you missed the Waggy Walk this year, be sure to sign up next year when the event will return for its third year!
