Wimbledon Foodbank is a charity that primarily provides essential food items to people facing food poverty in Merton. Alongside this, they actively listen to people and connect them with other services and organisations who collectively address the root of the problem. Throughout the pandemic, last year, they fed 19,000 people in Merton, and continue to positively impact the lives of the people that come through their doors.
Elim Pentecostal Church who have been working with The Trussell Trust to run Wimbledon Foodbank for the past 10 years, play a pivotal role in their operations, as do the community. So, this Christmas, the church has created a fun Winter Wonderland Secret Cinema experience to invite the community in for some festive fun and fundraise for Wimbledon Foodbank. Watch their story to learn more, and head to 75 Stories – Wimbledon Community Association for more community stories like this.
