For some years now, Wimblecomm has been supporting schools in Merton by helping them to reach people in the wider community. When most people think of schools, they usually think of learning, teachers who changed their lives, or perhaps assemblies. But over the years, schools have had to increase their offerings to keep up with the needs of society and meet their financial needs.
Through Wimblecomm’s Venue Directory, we’ve been able to showcase spaces for hire in schools across Merton which have helped to generate hire enquiries and bring in vital funds for them. To date, we promote spaces for hire at Pelham Primary School, Wimbledon College, Ricards Lodge High School, Rutlish High School, Raynes Park High School, Harris Academy Morden, Bishop Gilpin Primary School, The Priory Church of England Primary School, Sacred Heart RC Primary School, and St Mary’s Merton Primary School.
In addition to this, we have supported local schools by featuring their events on our What’s On page and spreading the word to people in Merton. This has included school fairs, firework nights, and a range of other activities. Not only has this generated revenue for the schools, but it has also helped to connect local people, and raise awareness of community spaces for hire that don’t always spring to mind.
As we celebrate our charity’s 75th anniversary and reflect on how we are already working with the above schools in Merton, we invite more schools across the borough to list their spaces for hire on our directory to start enjoying the many benefits that come with being a part of the Wimblecomm community.
